Freshly Pressed 2025
Partying is a Reflective Act

Jade Smith (she/her) is a Glasgow-born curator and artist based in Dundee. Her curatorial practice is rooted in accessibility, using clear, inclusive language and relatable themes to create exhibitions that connect with both experienced audiences and those new to the art world.

This year’s exhibition takes its cue from the vibrant world of nightlife, exploring ideas of identity, belonging, and shared memory. The venue itself becomes part of the conversation, with spaces designed for bold, high-energy works alongside quieter areas for reflection.

For Freshly Pressed 2025, one MFA Curatorial Practice graduate has been invited to curate the show, working collaboratively with six graduating Fine Art students from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design (DJCAD). Together, they bring new perspectives and fresh work to the exhibition.

Freshly Pressed is an annual project produced by Original Copy, created to support emerging curators and artists as they transition from study into professional practice.
